This is a thought experiment using many worlds interpretation. I decided to do this with the theme “If the industrial revolution had not occurred, what the world looks like, especially from an educational perspective”.
As many people may know, the industrial revolution made a significant impact on our educational system. Before the industrial revolution, education is usually provided as private education. This means that the system is managed by a family or local people and often mentor and apprentice system is used. So education was more private.
However, after the industrial revolution, public education, which managed by a government had been dramatically promoted. Thanks to this, nearly the entire children were well educated having a equal opportunity of education. And this became the foundation of the current educational system. But these days, this educational system causes a problem because this education methods often kill chidren’s creativity and autonomy in learning. So I decided to choose this theme.
Below, I summarized three key differences based on this change.
